Youth, Diversity and Wellbeing in a digital age

Anita is a Research Professor in the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation, and Deakin leader of our ‘Youth, Diversity and Wellbeing in a Digital Age’ research and program stream/

Anita is a sociologist specializing in youth citizenship, with a focus on cultural diversity, mobility and gender. She has recently completed two ARC Discovery projects and an ARC Future Fellowship. Her current ARC projects are ‘Fostering Global Digital Citizenship: Diaspora Youth in a Connected World’ (Johns, Walton, Caluya & Harris) and Understanding the Effects of Transnational Mobility on Youth Transitions’ (Harris, Baldassar & Robertson), and she is also undertaking a VicHealth Research Impact Grant project on 'Enhancing Digital Participation amongst Migrant and Refugee Background Youth' (Harris, Lam, Third, Collin, Idriss).

She is the author of several books about youth including Thinking about Belonging in Youth Studies, Young People and Everyday Multiculturalism, and Future Girl.
