Book Launch: The Routledge Handbook on the Governance of Religious Diversity

Zoom Webinar

As part of an EU-funded, Horizon 2020 project, the Routledge Handbook on the Governance of Religious Diversity (2021) looks at how religious diversity is managed, governed, and accommodated in a broad variety of settings. The volume provides both an overview of how different states have historically navigated the entanglements between national and religious identities, as well as an assessment of current practices, norms, and institutions.

This event hosted by the Transatlantic Policy Network on Religion & Diplomacy (TPNRD) will invite the co-editors of the Handbook, Anna Triandafyllidou and Tina Magazzini, to engage in conversation with Judd Birdsall, project director of TPNRD and a senior research fellow at the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs. They will take a broad, comparative look at different models of state-religious relations and discuss how they can provide helpful insights into how religious minorities and majorities can have their needs and claims guaranteed while safeguarding peaceful coexistence.

This event will be recorded and a captioned video will be posted to this page after the event date.
