The Body as a Site of Resilience

As part of the Objects for Everyday Resilience exhibition, this workshop aims to explore the body as the first site from which every act of resilience begins. Our bodies generate, receive, process, and give back in a constant relationship of mutual influence and exchange with the surrounding environment and its material objects. The workshop aims to explore this relationship through a series of embodied performative exercises coming from diverse disciplines, practices, methods, and masters with whom Angela has worked.

These include ©Body-Weather, Butoh, ©The Abramović Method, Mole Wetherell (Reckless Sleepers), and John Britton (Self with Others). No previous experience, training, or specific level of fitness is required. Dress comfortably and note that you may be asked to take your shoes off. Participants of all abilities are welcome.

Angela is familiar with mobility and sensorial impairments and will tailor the workshop according to participants’ needs. All you need to do is show up.
